“A new Kirby game on the Wii? Epic Yarn was just released months ago!” You may be thinking this right now, as was I when I first heard the news. During a Nintendo investor meeting last week company president Satoru Iwata himself announced that a new Kirby title, being developed by HAL Laboratories, is in the works.
Iwata had this to say: “It’s been a while since we launched the previous home console version of the Kirby game where Kirby can inhale enemies, spit them out and morph, but a team at Hal Laboratory, Inc. is developing a new Wii game from the Kirby’s Dreamland franchise now.”
Hal Laboratory, creators of the original Kirby titles and the character itself, look to revisit the series roots to create a more traditional Kirby experience than previous (but still good) offerings. As you will see in the teaser below, Kirby is more powerful than ever, with all new abilities to boot. No release date has been set yet, but expect more news in the future as details are announced.
