The Top 10 Videogame Franchises

I’ve spent the last few weeks on this, really looking at everything in these franchises. I’ve looked at what makes these franchises, and why I think they’re the best.

I’m going to make this as non-bias as possible, ranging from a variety of genres as possible.

Here are my top 10 videogame franchises of all time. Please note that this list is 100% my opinion and should be read us such.

10. Assassin’s Creed Franchise.

9. Call of Duty Franchise.

8. Mario Franchise.

7. Pokemon Franchise.

6. Jak & Daxter Franchise.

5. Halo Franchise.

4. Fallout Franchise.

3. Grand Theft Auto Franchise.

2. Mass Effect & Metal Gear/Solid Franchise.

1. The Elder Scrolls Franchise.

Trust me, this was -really- hard to choose… incredibly difficult.

I’ve changed the list at least 20 times. At least 40 different franchises, but this is the list that I myself have come up with.

    TES is a really good series, but most people have only played Oblivion.

        Including Redguard?! If so that’s pretty awesome. I’ve only played Oblivion and Morrowind, and briefly tried Daggerfall.

          Basically… all of them. ._.

    I’ve played all of the Fallout games, even tactics and that shitty Brotherhood of Steel.

    Hell I even played ‘Wasteland’ which is where the idea for Fallout came from.

    When I love a series… I will play ALL their games.

    Why are they the best? Not that I’m disagreeing with your choices, I just think it would have made a better article if you gave a little reasoning for each selection.

    COD 9 seems weak with the amount of sales and talk it generates.
    No Final Fantasy, Splinter Cell, Crash Bandicoot, Killzone, Smash Brothers, Zelda, or Madden?……

      Now that you say it, I think FF, SSB, and Zelda series could totally make the list. Not so much Crash Bandicoot, even though it was one of my favorite childhood games, or Splinter Cell. I can’t see Killzone or any sports games up there either.

      Games like Madden certainly are nowhere near. If I listed reasons for each selection… I’d still be writing the article.

      It’s what about makes a franchise that good, not mindless garbage and the same MP over and over again.

      Every game on that list is better than Call of Duty. I just had to give it some credibility.
