Nintendo has announced, well, pretty much everything that’s being pulled out of their hat this year.
First of all, a sequel to New Super Mario Bros for the 3DS. The game will feature the standard side-scrolling 2D Mario affair, including Luigi and the regular cast of The Mushroom Kingdom, but in a style that is more accustomed to the pick up and play nature of the 3DS. According to Nintendo it’ll release in North America some time this August.
In more Mario news, Mario Tennis Open has been given a release date, May 20. Not only will you get to play as 16 Mario characters in the game’s new challenge modes, but you’ll also be able to customise your Mii, with over 200 skill and appearance changing in-game special items.
Kirby is coming back to the Wii, with a selection of past games, bundled into one collection. Nintendo haven’t yet announced which titles will be on the disc, but more information is promised in the coming months.
Nintendo announced the 3D Pokedex last year, the problem was that it only contained 150 Pokemon, Nintendo is now adding all the Pokemon seen in every game in the franchise. As well as the extended Pokedex, Nintendo are releasing an AR game to accompany Pokemon Black and White 2. The game will allow you to catch Pokemon outside of the main games, including some Pokemon which are extremely rare in the main games.
A fairly major 3DS update is also being released, the update will allow games to be patched, as well giving the option to make folders on the 3DS home screen.
