One does not simply walk into Mordor … but if you get your hands on LEGO Lord of the Rings, you sure can try. It looks as if someone let the cat out of the bag, as MCV has reported that Warner Bros. is going to release the game in the near future for the Xbox 360.
It is likely that Warner Bros. will reveal the game in all the hype leading up to E3, or during the conference itself.
Hints about the game have been dropping left and right — inserts in the packaging on LEGO’s new Lord of the Rings toys say the title is coming soon.
Gamespot also has images from a Google cache snapshot from retailer ShopTo, showing the game with a release date of Oct. 26.
Warner Bros. has already adapted several other popular LEGO franchises into games, including Indiana Jones, Batman, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter.
In addition to LEGO Lord of the Rings, the company is working on a Hobbit title, which will release in 2012 as well, alongside the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
