Realm of the Titans closed beta starting today Realm of the Titans pc online

Aeria Games‘ upcoming RTS game, Realm of the Titans, is preparing for its closed beta today. Based on the popular Warcraft III map Defense of the Ancients, RotT is developed by Ningbo Shengguang Tianyi, a Chinese company, and published by Aeria Games, an American company best known for its browser MMOs.

RotT follows the standard formula for multiplayer online battle arena games, allowing the player to choose from a wide range of powerful heroes to lead their forces in battle against other players down three separate lanes. NPC bosses in the corners of the map add an additional layer of strategy, as defeating a boss gives a player a distinct advantage. Each player has access to four powers during play that can be upgraded with experience, with access to a more strategic fifth power (or “Titan Skill”) that can be swapped out as needed. While incomplete as of yet, each hero has a fleshed-out backstory, and it’s nice to see that Ningbo hasn’t skimped on the story. In addition to its gameplay opportunities, RotT offers an advanced matchmaking system, detailed statistics on each fight, achievements and replays.

RotT was released for PC in China in October 2010. The North American closed beta starts today at 3 p.m. EST.

I thought this got released a while ago. I got in the closed alpha testing for it, but never tried the game out.

For anyone who likes League of Legends or DotA, its essentially the same thing.

It’s been available in China for quite awhile, but has never seen a wide North American release.
