A new MMOFPS earns you real world money for kills RMT Planet Cyrene pc mmofps Entropia

How much do you feel a kill in an FPS is worth? Planet Cyrene is asking that very question with its real money economy backing an MMOFPS.

Creative Kingdom Inc. announced the soft launch of their new game Planet Cyrene, an MMOFPS set on a planet in the Entropia Universe. Entropia is an MMO that works based on a real-money economy. The player can put in and get out real currency for items in the world, and now they’re adding an FPS element to complement the more standard MMO.

From the press release it sounds like there will be PvP arenas where the player pays an entrance fee (2.5 cents to $1 of in game currency). Once inside the game, every kill will the player something like 2 cents to 80 cents of real-world currency. There are still MMO elements such as quests and loot that can reward players in the same way as going into the arena.

I really don’t know what to make of this game so I’m going to try it out. It seems to be extremely ambitious, with the power to decimate bank accounts. I’ll be back with some more information after I’ve had time to play Planet Cyrene.
