Fresh from Facebook, it looks like Oddworld Inhabitants, the people behind the Oddworld series, will be releasing a full remake of fan-favorite Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee.
As for the full status update, it reads:
“Ok so here’s the skinny on “Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee”… We decided to reboot it, not just an HD update to the original PS1 title, this is a NEW game. It will be getting it’s first public showing LATER this year, with a release date of NEXT summer (2013).“
This will be an entirely new game that uses the original for inspiration. For those unfamiliar with the original, it involved some odd-looking fellows named Abe and Mukodon going through a psuedo-3D world, solving puzzles from a 2D perspective. For fans of the series, this looks like great news. For those who are unacquainted, there’s no better time to start than now. The original Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee can be found on the Playstation Network.
