Amazon.com announced a new set of services for its Kindle Fire on Wednesday called GameCircle, which aims to bring achievements, leaderboards and more to the company’s popular tablet similar to that of iOS GameCenter. GameCircle isn’t available just yet, but Amazon is busy pushing API’s to developers so release might be right around the corner.
“Our goal is to give developers great tools to quickly and easily reach new customers and keep them engaged,” explains Paul Ryder, Vice President of Apps, Games, and Services at Amazon. “GameCircle gives developers the right tools to build an immersive, more entertaining experience on Kindle Fire, which will ultimately help developers grow their business.”
This is especially interesting given that rumors of an Amazon smart phone have been quite popular lately.
