Ouya Smashes Kickstarter Target OUYA kickstarter

Not too long ago, we published an article about the new open source console concept, known as the Ouya. In terms of hardware, it boasted a quad core processor, 1GB RAM, wireless and HDMI connectivity among other things, and ran the Android 4.0 operating system. However, the thing that seems to have gotten people’s blood boiling is the concept of lower fees to create games for the Ouya, the way that the consoles’ producers encourage players to hack and modify the console, and the way that free games are a core element of the Ouya’s production values. This new console has smashed it’s Kickstarter target of $950,000 and with 27 days to go has collected almost $4,000,000, and with plenty of time left in the Kickstarter pledge period, you could still secure your own Ouya system.
