Tekken producer discusses Wii Us power wii u tekken tag tournament 2

In an interview with Digitalspy Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada talked a bit about his experience working with Nintendo‘s latest home console, Wii U. He claims that development is actually coming along quite smoothly as far as visuals go, even if Wii U‘s CPU is a little slower than he would like. He goes on to call Wii U’s power “on par” with current hardware.

“As far as graphical processing and such, it’s not much of an issue,” he said. “But as far as the CPU goes, the clock is kinda low. I guess they’re trying to keep power consumption down so we have to come up with creative ways to get around that and that’s taking a little bit of time.” When specifically asked if it was slower than the PS3 and 360, he responded “maybe a little bit.”

Regaurding the Wii U version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Harada asserts progress is “coming along quite rapidly” and isn’t far behind the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
