There is a lot of crossover between anime fans and video game fans. This made the news from this year’s Anime Expo all the more exciting. At the convention Sony and Crunchyroll announced that they would be releasing a Crunchyroll app on the PlayStation 3. Just a short time later the app is officially available, with a Vita app in the works.
For those not in the know, Crunchyroll is a service that streams Japanese television and anime only and hour after it airs overseas. The service can be used for free, but you’ll be seeing ads. However, for a small fee, you can have those ads removed. Users that sign in on PS3 will receive 30-day premium membership trial so they can watch all the anime they want for free.
