Photos of Xbox 720 development kit emerge xbox 720 spotlight durango

Photos of a next-gen Xbox development kit have been posted online at AsemblerGames forums. User DaE appears to be responsible for this leak as he attempted to sell the kit for $10,000. Initially, the images were met with heavy skepticism.

Since then the boys at DigitalFoundry have spoken with their usually reliable sources and have confirmed the images as real.

The kit is said to be a rather plain-looking black box, which is pretty standard for early dev kits. Kinect functionality is present as we all expected, Intel CPUs and an NVIDA graphics card. The kit also sports 8GB of RAM (though other sources say 12GB) and has a 64-bit operating system.

Whether or not this leak is real, which is appears to be, the idea that many developers would have these kits should not surprise anyone. Microsoft has yet to officially provide details about its next console, and has made no official comment on these photos. Stay tuned to theBitFix for more details as they emerge.
