According to VP of PlayStation Hardware John Koller Sony won’t be abandoning PS3 anytime soon. In an interview with Gamespot, Koller said “We are increasingly bullish on the PS3′s prospects not only this year but over the next few years,” Koller says. “A lot of great content is coming. And over the next two to three years, the PS3 has got an incredible lineup.”
With the recent announcement of a new slimmer model of the PS3, it appears that Sony plans to support the console as long as there is developer interest, much like it did with PS2.
