My name is Shane Craig and I run theBitFix.com. Over that time we have had writers at PAX and other smaller shows. We’ve met Peter Molyneux and interviewed Klei, Lunar, Overkill and others. We’ve snagged review copies for literally dozens and dozens of games, and we aren’t just talking smaller indie titles here.

All that being said, we desperately need to expand our staff. After all, theBitFix is only as great as its staff. If you’re reading this then you must be interested in writing in the industry that I love. Without trying to sound rude I have to be very frank here. If you aren’t serious about this then don’t bother. If you aren’t willing to make actual bonds with your fellow writers and make this a part of your life then we don’t need you. While I cannot pay you in terms of monetary gains, the compensation you receive will be enough for anyone that has any REAL passion about what we are doing.

I can get you into an interview with the people you admire. I can get you free games and experiences that those who truly love games will find invaluable. Even more than all that, I can get you real experience on how the big boys in the industry do their jobs and potentially allow you to move up in the industry.

Community Manager

I need that guy or gal that can find followers and likes from anywhere. I never managed to figure that one out, to be honest. Social media is a huge component to the success of any publications. This job is obviously additional to writing, but I will expect far, far less content from you.

News Writer

As News Writer you will be keeping theBitFix up to date with current news stories. We have a system in place to make this a simple job of simply condensing stories into something that our readers will enjoy reading. You will have many chances to interview big names and potentially gain access to press events. We encourage our writers to have fun with this one. Humor is a great thing to endear ourselves to the readers.

Review Writer

First and foremost, all Review Writers will also be news writers. You won’t be expected to contribute as much as the dedicated news writers, but you will need to be involved in the day-to-day, and not just vanishing until you get a review written. We have a very detailed set of guidelines already in place for how a review should be written and all you have to do is follow it. Reviews are one of the most exciting things in this business and its something a lot of people wish they could be doing. Free games?

Videos, podcasts

I want my friggin’ podcast back. I need people who can be funny and talk. I need people who can make videos.

Currently this is not a paying job and all the revenue goes back into the site. When there’s extra, it will get spread around.

After receiving a response to your submission not replying promptly is grounds for immediate dismissal from consideration. theBitFix needs reliable people and 2 days is enough time to respond if you’re serious.
